Bibliography/ Pictography
Cassedy, James H. Doctor Charles V. Chapin and the Modern Public Health Movement. 1959.
James H. Cassedy, a widely known historical writer wrote this bibliography of Charles V. Chapin which was most widely used within my research. It offered details into every aspect of Charles V. Chapin both before and after his publications of various works that made him famous in the public health movement. James H. Cassedy is an extremely credible source because he most specifically was specialized in medical history. The book itself quotes all of Chapin’s texts as well as various quotes from those who once knew him. It was the most used book source that I had available to me.
Chapin, Charles V. The Sources and Mode of Infection. 1912.
Written by Charles V. Chapin himself, this book is arguably the most famous work he had published. This text was quoted by many public health officials today and is used as a guideline. This is the most credible primary source that this research project could use since it was his first hand account of his discoveries. It documents most of his bacteriology findings as well as lots of his plans for a new public health initiative. The author, Charles V. Chapin is also the topic of research in this project and therefor helps in the aid of analyzing and learning about not only his research but his life as well.

This website article offered a wealth of background on Charles V. Chapin. I did use this website last so it filled in the gaps of knowledge that I could not find within the conclusion, introduction and background information however it was most of the commonly known facts so i rarely used it. It references multiple credible sources for their information also including Brown's website. The author of the article was not mentioned and therefore their biases are not known to their reader and neither is their credentials for what makes them a good author source.
Chapin, Charles V. "A Report on State of Public Health." 2009. Accessed January 8, 2016. http://www.deltaomega.org/documents/ChapinClassic.pdf.
This website offered a pdf format of Charles V. Chapin’s widely quoted text. This text published under the direction of the American Medical Association offered a good context into life before Chapin’s ideas and also the influence in which Chapin had on the public health movement. His action plan for public health was quoted from this text. As for the website itself, it is the Delta omega website which is known as the Honorary Society in public health. This text published on their website was not edited in any form as disclosed.
"Dr. Chapin Is Dead. Health Authority. Superintendent of Bureau in Providence 48 Years Until 1932 Is Stricken at 85. He Won Medals For Work. Cited by League of Nations in 1925 for 'Revolutionizing Principles of Disinfection'". New York Times. February 1, 1941. Accessed January 6, 2016. http://newyorktimes.com.
Written by the New York Times, a credible and widely known newspaper this obituary like article on Charles V. Chapin offers insight into most of Chapin’s life. It gives a good overview of his significance as well as his medical advances in the public health and bacteriology departments. This is where I most widely used the source. The New York Times is a credible journal and newspaper that offers an insight into the world and life at the time of Charles V. Chapin. Due to the nature of when it was written, the author is unknown, however it had to have been a credible journalist due to the credibility of the newspaper.
